Welcome to Rainier Beach Run Club

Welcome to the Rainier Beach (and surrounding areas) Run Club. We’re a casual group of runners (and walkers). If you’re looking for a group to push you to a Boston Marathon Qualifying time, we’re probably not the group for you. But if you’re looking for a fun group to run and socialize with, come check us out. All our runs are dog and stroller friendly. We look forward to meeting you soon.

DayTimeLocation and Notes
Monday6:00pmAt various locations, check our Strava group or posts below. We go 3-4 miles at about 9-11 min/mile pace. We stop at every turn to regroup and ensure we don’t lose anyone. When we have more than ~8 people, we sometimes break into smaller pace groups. After the run, we grab a drink together to socialize.
Tuesday6:00pmMany RBRC runners join C-City Runners for running as well as calisthenics. We meet at the clay studio in Seward Park.
ThursdayRestarting when Machine House reopens location. At NW Peaks – We have a 5k group and a 5 mile group, then meet back at the brewery for a beverage.
Saturday8:30amAnother C-City Run. This run is typically 5-7 miles and starts in the park at the corner of S. Edmunds St. and 37th Ave. S (across from PCC)

We want to promote running in our area, even if you’re not running with us. Here are other running clubs near us that we know about. The details might be fuzzy so be sure to check with the organizers. If there are others we’re missing, let us know and we’ll add them.

March 27 – Union N Bar

With more sunshine, let’s get back to Union N Bar (8824 Renton Ave S, Seattle) and try one of the trails that’s too dark in winter to run. We came up with three route options this week: “Default Route” (no one wants this, but someone suggested it), Secret Kubota Trail (Matt requested this last month for when we had more light), or Gnome Trail (to see if any gnomes survived the winter). Anyone have a preference?

This place has good food and decent drinks so plan to stick around after the run. Their menu: https://unionnbarandrestaurant.com/

March 20 – Foo Lam Chinese Restaurant

There was a request to go back to Foo Lam (7101 Martin Luther King Jr Way S) next week. It’s been a while since we were there so you might want to take a look at the menu again: https://foolamwatogo.com/

There were a couple of people talking about forming routes. Who can create one first? Once the map is posted, be sure to review it so we can have different pace groups without anyone getting lost. See you next week.

March 6 – Clock Out Lounge

For our March “once a month, outside the greater Rainier Beach area, but not too far away” run, let’s meet up on Beacon Hill at Clock Out Lounge. They’re at 4864 Beacon Ave S. After the run, we can also grab some Chicago-style pizza from Breezy Town located in Clock Out. Margot offered to create a route for everyone. Should be fun.

Also, if anyone has a better name for these once a month runs, please let me know in the comments
